Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. We handle personal information under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, and under the federal PIPEDA where information crosses a provincial or national border.

Who we are

CRE TOUR DE FORCE operates this website and the commercial real estate platform at https://app.cretourdeforce.com. We are based in Calgary, Alberta.

Questions about this policy go to support@cretourdeforce.com.

What we collect

We collect only what the platform needs to work.

  • Account information: your name, work email, brokerage or firm, licence details where verification requires them, and the markets and asset classes you cover.
  • Content you post: listings, building information, comps you choose to contribute, messages, and anything you upload.
  • Usage information: pages viewed, searches run, listings saved and toured, and the device and browser you used.
  • Communications: messages you send us, and whether you opened an email we sent you.

Why we collect it

Each purpose is limited to what a reasonable person would consider appropriate.

  • To create and verify your account, and to confirm you work in the industry.
  • To operate the platform: showing listings, running searches, delivering alerts you asked for, and connecting you with other members.
  • To send the Pulse and other messages you have consented to receive.
  • To improve the product, using aggregated usage information.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

Consent

We ask for your consent when you create an account and when you subscribe to anything we send. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us or using the unsubscribe link in any message. Withdrawing consent for essential processing may mean we can no longer provide the platform to you.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

Other members see what you choose to publish: your profile, your listings, and anything you post to Industry Pulse. That is the point of the platform, and you control what goes in.

We use service providers to run the platform, including hosting, email delivery, analytics and error reporting. They may only use personal information to provide services to us.

We may disclose personal information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Where your information is stored

Our infrastructure and some service providers are located outside Canada, including in the United States. Information stored or processed in another country is subject to that country's laws, and may be accessible to its courts and law enforcement.

Where information crosses a border, PIPEDA applies to that transfer, and we remain accountable for it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as your account is open, and afterwards only as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected for, or as the law requires. Where information has been used to make a decision about you, we keep it for at least one year so you can ask to see it.

Your rights

Under PIPA you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and who we have given it to.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Stop using it for a purpose you have withdrawn consent for.

Security

We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and review of who can reach what. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

If something goes wrong

If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta without unreasonable delay, and notify affected individuals as the Commissioner directs.

Contact and complaints

Write to support@cretourdeforce.com with any question, access request or complaint. We will respond within the time PIPA allows.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they take effect.
